Mainland China hit by Typhoon Soulik

Typhoon Soulik has entered mainland China causing colossal damage in the Eastern provinces. Reports say the dreadful storm that was travelling at near 100 mph has already claimed 3 lives, injured 104 and displaced thousands in Taiwan.

Authorities in China say the extreme weather has brought landslides and flooding of nearby rivers. Several buildings were sent into tatters with household belongings washed away. The most affected provinces included; Fujian, Zhejiang and Sichuan.
Rescue teams were constituted to save trapped folks. Military Choppers were seen lifting trapped people from flooded areas. Close to 300,000 people were evacuated from potentially vulnerable areas. Traffic in the three provinces has been grossly affected with all flights momentarily delayed or cancelled.
The now moderate typhoon is expected to wane as it approaches the deeper interior of China.
According to CCTV, all concerned authorities there have been asked to implement emergency response plans following recent torrential rain across large parts of the country reportedly left close to 200 people dead.
