New Prince for Britain

It has been made official by the Kensington Palace that the duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a boy. Princess Kate who was adimitted in Hospital in the early hours of the morning, has given birth to a prince. She gave birth at 04:24 p.m. BST at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, west London in the suite where the royal family are delivered. The baby weighed 8lb 6oz. A statement proclaiming the prince’s birth has been officially displayed on an ornate easel in the forecourt of Buckingham palace. The announcement was made 4 hours after the baby was born.

According to the palace officials the duchess and the baby are in good health "doing well" and will stay in hospital overnight. The declaration was signed by the Queen's gynecologist Mr. Marcus Setchell, who headed the medical team which delivered the baby and thereafter was taken by a royal aide from Hospital to the palace in company of the police escort.
The document read: "Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24 p.m. local time today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."
The Kensington Palace press release said the Duke of Cambridge was present during delivery time birth. It stated that: "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news". The Duke of Cambridge said; “We could not be happier”.
The new baby is third in line to the throne after Prince Charles and Prince William. The duke will spend anight in the hospital with his the family.

According to Buckingham spokesperson the Royal Mint will give babies born on the same day as the new prince a special silver penny to mark the occasion. A total of 2,013 of the coins have been minted and parents will have 60 days after the birth to claim the special present which will come in a pink or blue pouch depending on the sex of the baby

Messages have started flowing in from dignitaries in and outside England. Prime Minister David Cameron mentioned on Twitter: "I'm delighted for the Duke and Duchess now their son has been born. The whole country will celebrate. They'll make wonderful parents."
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said on Twitter: "Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Good news to make the whole country smile."
More from Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, who has now issued a statement, saying: "Miriam and I want to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son. This is wonderful news which will make the whole country smile.
"The arrival of a first child is a very special time and we send our very best wishes to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and indeed to all couples who have become proud parents on this very special day.

Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond, said: "I am sure that people across Scotland will be absolutely thrilled to hear the news of the birth of a baby boy to the Royal couple and will want to join me in wishing the proud parents many congratulations."
And Labour leader Ed Miliband, also writing on Twitter, said: "Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I wish them and their son all happiness and good health."
